Experienced and Respected. Each of the three attorneys in our firm – Deborah Luxenberg, Stephen D. Johnson and Kim Hibsch – is a seasoned attorney. Together they represent more than 150 years of legal experience and life experience.

The attorneys at Luxenberg & Johnson, PC are skilled litigators and know that court action will often set the stage for a reasonable settlement. We never recommend settlements that may be easy resolutions but would not serve our clients’ best interests.

DEBORAH LUXENBERG

Admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Dubbed the “Lioness of the District bar” by Washingtonian Magazine, Deborah Luxenberg has consistently handled complex and difficult cases. And it is with the wise oversight and quick response of a mother lion that she takes on and manages her clients’ cases. Since founding the firm in 1975, Deborah has been a pioneer in advancing family law as a unique area of law and in educating the legal profession of the gravity and far-reaching effects of troubles within a family. STEPHEN D. JOHNSON

Admitted to the bars of Virginia, the District of Columbia, and the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Stephen D. Johnson is an attorney and counselor at law with years of training and experience in family law, mediation, collaborative law, alternative dispute resolution, real estate transactions, business issues, and other areas of civil law practice. He is AV® Peer Review Rated – the highest rating for ethical standards and legal ability – and listed in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

With a keen ear for the nuances of each client’s situation and needs, Steve is available to clients and staff alike as a sounding board for ideas and the creative solutions the firm is known for. KIMBERLY M. HIBSCH

Admitted to the bars of Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Kim joined Luxenberg & Johnson, PC in 2007 after almost 5 years as a law clerk and associate attorney in a firm focused on federal and state employment discrimination.  We recruited Kim based on her experience with difficult cases, touchy negotiations and litigation – all skills important in family law practice.  She is a talented attorney with excellent intuition. Since 2006, she has worked as an instructor and volunteer attorney in the District of Columbia Family Court Self-Help Center and Pro-se Divorce Clinic.
